Bread Preparation Steps
- Start by combining warm milk or water with sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle active dry yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and melted butter. Stir everything together until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- After rising, punch down the dough to release air. Roll it out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick and spread the softened butter evenly over the surface.
- Sprinkle minced garlic, chopped herbs, and shredded cheese evenly across the dough.
- Gently roll the dough tightly from one long edge to the other, forming a log. Place it seam-side down in a greased loaf pan, and let it rise again for another 30 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bread for about 35 minutes, or until it’s golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
